Getting Started

At Metropolitan Pilates new clients have the option to begin with a series of private sessions, the Pilates Fundamentals mat class, or the Pilates for Beginners class.

Private sessions consist of both apparatus and matwork and are 55 minutes in length. Clients work one-on-one with an instructor and exercises are tailored specifically to one’s body. Because of the individual focus, private sessions are the best way to start Pilates.

 The Pilates Fundamentals mat class is for clients who wish to work in a group setting. It is designed for beginners and it focuses on establishing the connection between the powerhouse and the rest of the body. Classes are 50 minutes in length. No apparatus is used.

Pilates for Beginners is a series of six 50-minute classes introducing clients to a true Pilates workout. Classes consist of apparatus and matwork. This series is limited to six participants.
